Tucked away on the edge of the hamlet of Chatenet our charming stone-built, two bedroomed cottage in the Charente Maritime region works equally well for a family holiday or a romantic break for two. The area offers a combination of French country living and the nearby varied coastline.
The property is completely self-contained and is well equipped, with all you need for a relaxed and peaceful stay. Take a look around the site, especially the gallery to get to know what Benèze is all about.
Getting to Charente Maritime by road, rail, air and sea is straight forward. The gite is one hour's drive from Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports, both of which are served by budget airlines from various UK airports. There is easy access from the A10 autoroute for drivers. Eurostar services run to Angouleme with connections to Saintes. Even the Bike Express bus stops in Saintes.
Seaside beaches are 30 minutes' drive, the local swimming pool is less than 10 minutes away and the historic towns of Saintes, Pons and Cognac are within easy reach. Local produce can be bought at the many town and village markets. Local restaurants still offer good value, fixed price menus.
